Karachi: The KSE-100 index exhibited range-bound activity, witnessing a positive start and maintaining its upward momentum throughout the session. The index reached an intraday high of 1,054 points before closing with a gain of 465 points at 180,311. Despite the gains, market participation weakened as trading volumes fell by approximately 39% compared to the previous session.
According to AKD Securities Limited, the technical outlook reveals mixed signals, with the index posting four bullish and six bearish candles over the last ten sessions, resulting in a net of two bearish candles. The KSE-100 is currently trading 5.7% above its 200-period moving average, suggesting a sustained uptrend. Volatility remains low but could potentially increase, leading to sharper price movements. Volume indicators show a balanced flow of buying and selling activity, indicating a neutral market stance.
Technical analysis identifies immediate support at 179,800, with a potential decline extending to 179,200 and 178,300 if breached. Resistance is anticipated at 181,100, followed by 182,000 and 183,100. Investors are advised to accumulate positions while defining risk below the support zone.
