KSE-100 Index Soars to Record High, LOTCHEM Shares Surge 10%

Islamabad: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a historic day as the KSE-100 index reached an unprecedented peak of 157,020.80, marking a 0.29% increase. This surge was mirrored by the KSE-30 index, which also hit a new high of 48,080.41, up by 0.18%. Among the top performers, LOTCHEM shares skyrocketed by 10.02%, reaching Rs. 25.48. LCI also saw substantial gains, climbing 10% to Rs. 333.93.

Significant advancements were observed in year-to-date performance for both indices, with the KSE-100 showing a 36.39% increase in the current year (CY25) and 24.99% in the current fiscal year (FY26). The KSE-30 index recorded similar growth, with 32.88% in CY25 and 26.02% in FY26. Market capitalization reached Rs. 18,359.00 billion (US$65.20 billion), further highlighting the positive market sentiment. Trading volume was robust, totaling 996.27 million shares with a value of Rs. 52.73 billion (US$ 187.24 million).

While the market celebrated these gains, some companies experienced declines. PIOC saw its share price drop by 2.78%, reaching Rs. 258.00, while KEL fell 2.61% to Rs. 5.60. WTL led in trading volume with 75.55 million shares traded. Regional markets showed mixed results, with notable gains in Korea (KOSPI) and Taiwan (TWII), up 1.7% and 1.4% respectively, whereas Malaysia (KLSE) and the Philippines (PSI) experienced declines.
