KSE 100 Index Surges Amidst Declining Trade Volume

Islamabad: The KSE 100 index witnessed a significant increase of 820.26 points, closing at 150,591.00, reflecting a 0.55% rise compared to the previous day's closing of 149,770.75. The KSE 30 index also showed positive momentum, gaining 125.79 points to settle at 45,869.06.

Despite these gains, the overall market turnover experienced a sharp decrease. Regular market trading volume fell to 667,817,396 shares from 809,082,439 shares. Similarly, the traded value in the regular market witnessed a substantial drop, reaching 40,728,508,612 compared to the previous 48,430,969,641.

The futures market also mirrored this trend with a reduction in both trade volume and value. Traded volume decreased from 133,993,500 shares to 116,618,000 shares, while the value dropped to 8,087,094,290 from 9,710,106,795. Market capitalization, however, saw a minor uptick, rising to 17,872,820,833,370 from 17,771,192,715,495. Odd Lot trading displayed minimal activity with insignificant changes.
