KSE 100 Index Surges as Key Stocks Gain Traction

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) saw a significant rise in its indices on the latest trading day, with the KSE 100 Index climbing by 978.17 points to reach 139,390.42, marking a 0.71% increase. The KSE 30 Index also followed suit with an increase of 363.76 points, closing at 42,618.60, reflecting a 0.86% rise.

Leading the gains were PABC, SYS, and THALL, posting notable increases in their stock prices. PABC saw a 10% increase, closing at 162.33, while SYS jumped 7.59% to 137.14. THALL also performed well with a 6.30% rise, closing at 467.78.

The overall market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a 0.65% increase, reaching Rs 16,703.42 billion. In dollar terms, the market cap stood at $59.05 billion.

However, not all stocks shared in the gains. Among the day's losers, GHGL fell by 3.59% to 42.73, EPCL decreased by 2.61% to 30.59, and FHAM dropped 2.54% to 26.14.

The PSX's ready turnover showed a vibrant trading day with a total volume of 577.35 million shares, equating to a value of Rs 36.35 billion or approximately $128.50 million.

In the regional context, the performance varied, with China's SSEA index declining by 1.2% and India's BSESN decreasing by 0.4%. Conversely, Taiwan's TWII index rose by 0.3%.

With a year-to-date increase of 21.08% for the KSE 100 Index, the market continues to show resilience and growth potential, buoyed by strong performances from leading stocks.
