KSE 100 Soars, Market Capitalization Hits Record High

Islamabad: The KSE 100 index surged by 291.66 points, a 0.18% increase, closing at a historic 158,236.69 on September 24, 2025. This pushed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) market capitalization to an unprecedented Rs 18,694.29 billion (US$66.43 billion).

The KSE 30 index also showed positive momentum, gaining 83.04 points (0.17%) to reach 48,235.21. Year-to-date performance for CY25 reveals a significant 37.45% rise for the KSE 100 and a 33.31% jump for the KSE 30. KEL led the gainers with a 12.84% surge, while HGFA saw the largest decline, dropping 4.46%.

Trading activity remained robust with a total volume of 1,780.97 million shares traded, generating a value of Rs 54.52 billion (US$193.74 million). KEL dominated trading volume with 659.20 million shares exchanging hands. OGDC, PSO, PPL, and DGKC also witnessed substantial trading interest.

Regional markets exhibited mixed performance. China's SSEA saw a 0.8% rise, while India's BSESN dipped by 0.5%. Other Asian markets showed minimal fluctuations.
