KSE-100 Soars, Searl Skyrockets 21%

Islamabad: The KSE-100 index surged by 820.25 points, a 0.55% increase, closing at a record high of 150,591.00 on August 21, 2025. Searl topped the gainers' chart with an astonishing 21.29% leap, closing at 111.35 rupees. This remarkable ascent was accompanied by significant trading activity, with 32.12 million shares exchanged, generating a turnover of Rs. 3.5 billion. SCBPL also registered a substantial 10% gain.

Market capitalization reached Rs 17.87 trillion (US$63.39 billion), also a new high. While Searl and SCBPL led the advances, PGLC and PKGP experienced declines of 4.41% and 3.35% respectively. Trading volume reached 667.82 million shares, representing a total market turnover of Rs 40.73 billion (US$144.45 million).

Among the most actively traded stocks, Bank of Punjab (BOP) saw 52.30 million shares change hands. Other heavily traded equities included WorldCall Telecom (WTL), Fauji Foods Limited (FFL), and Cnergyico PK Limited (CPHL). Regional markets showed mixed performance, with gains observed in China, India, and Indonesia, while Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, and Taiwan experienced declines.
