KSE-100 Suffers Losses Amid Volatility and Declining Trading Volumes

Karachi: The KSE-100 Index endured a volatile trading session, starting off strong but ultimately closing down by 367 points at 81,484. The index fluctuated significantly, reaching a peak of 82,010 and dropping to a low of 81,107 throughout the day. Trading volumes saw a 9% decrease from the previous session, signaling a cautious approach from investors.

According to AKD Securities Limited, “The Bollinger Bands, which are 10.36% narrower than normal, indicate reduced volatility in the near term, despite the day’s fluctuations. The MACD, being bullish and above its signal line for the past 22 trading sessions, suggests some upward momentum. However, since crossing its moving average, the index has only gained 3.41%, with a high of 82,463 and a low of 77,990 during this period.” Analysts recommend watching for potential support around the 81,400 point mark. Falling below this level could trigger further declines towards 81,100 and 80,800 points. Conversely, resistance might form near 81,800 points, with possible advances towards 82,200 and 82,500 points.
