KSE-100 Surges Amid Volatility, Closes with Significant Gains

Karachi: The KSE-100 index experienced notable volatility during its latest trading session, ultimately closing with a significant gain of 1,384 points at 168,062. This substantial rise was marked by an intraday high of 1,569 points and a low of 653 points, reflecting the day's fluctuating market conditions.

Trading volumes saw a slight increase, up by 4% compared to the previous session. The index remains 23.1% above its 200-period moving average, sustaining its broader upward trend. Market analysts note that volatility could intensify in the near future, potentially resulting in sharper price movements.

Technical analysis indicates the immediate support level is at 167,700. Should this level be breached, a further decline could extend towards 167,100 and 166,800. Conversely, resistance is anticipated around 168,400, with further levels at 168,800 and 169,600.

Market participants are advised to consider accumulating positions during periods of weakness, with a focus on risk management below the support zone, according to AKD Securities Limited.
