KSE Indexes Tumble Amid Broad Market Decline

Karachi: The key stock indexes of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a significant downturn on the latest trading day, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indexes registering substantial losses. The KSE100 index dropped by 3,791.04 points, closing at 161,805.02, marking a 2.29% decline. Meanwhile, the KSE30 index fell by 1,124.25 points, a decrease of 2.27%, closing at 48,340.67.

According to JS Global, the market saw a broad decline across various sectors, contributing to a decrease in the overall market capitalization, which fell by 2.17% to Rs 17,990.02 billion. In terms of individual stocks, GADT led the list of losers with a 9.94% drop, while TRG and PGLC followed with declines of 8.72% and 6.97%, respectively. Meanwhile, YOUW emerged as the top gainer with a 4.15% increase in its share price.

The market's total volume reached 499.80 million shares, with a total value of Rs 19.44 billion. In the regional context, fluctuations were also noted in other Asian markets, with mixed performances observed across China, India, and Korea.
