KSE Indices Climb Amidst Modest Turnover

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange saw an uptick in its indices as both KSE-30 and KSE-100 closed higher on Friday. The KSE-30 index rose by 357.18 points, closing at 49,083.13, while the KSE-100 index increased by 1,277.69 points, ending the day at 161,935.19.

The trading day witnessed KSE-30 reaching a high of 49,151.42 and a low of 48,704.27. Meanwhile, KSE-100 recorded a high of 162,118.76 and a low of 160,791.78. The percentage change in the indices was 0.73% for KSE-30 and 0.80% for KSE-100.

Despite the positive movement in indices, turnover saw a decline. The regular market reported a turnover of 673,450,820 shares, down from the previous 797,177,124 shares. The traded value also fell to 34,646,519,166 from 35,125,866,161.

Market capitalization witnessed a slight increase, reaching 18,433,833,311,932 from 18,286,939,425,397, indicating a strengthened market valuation despite the reduced trading volume.

The futures market reported a turnover of 185,019,500, down from 193,199,500. The traded value in futures dropped slightly to 9,272,938,520 from 9,708,843,210.

The overall market data signifies a positive close for the indices, however, accompanied by a lower turnover, suggesting cautious investor activity.
