Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices experienced notable gains on September 17, 2026, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices closing higher than their previous positions. The KSE30 index rose by 306.30 points to reach 50,297.78, while the KSE100 index increased by 1,021.40 points, closing at 169,043.20.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the indices reached intra-day highs of 50,455.57 and 169,576.52, respectively. The turnover for regular market transactions saw an increase, with 386,368,068 shares traded compared to the previous 356,137,791 shares. The traded value also rose to 20,091,221,846 from 19,486,786,540. Market capitalization expanded to 18,847,353,485,602 from 18,721,163,322,643.
In contrast, the Deliverable Futures Contracts (DFC) segment reported a slight decrease in turnover, with 89,082,500 shares traded, down from 92,833,500. The traded value also fell to 5,594,340,970 from 6,171,846,260. The Odd Lot (ODL) market saw a reduction in activity, with only 736 shares traded compared to the previous 2,418.
Overall, the market exhibited a positive trend, with increased turnover and market capitalization contributing to the upward movement of the indices.
