Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) experienced a decline in its major indices on September 16, 2026, as the KSE30 and KSE100 indices both fell by 0.94% and 0.81% respectively. The KSE30 index closed at 49,991.48, down from the previous session's 50,468.10, while the KSE100 index ended at 168,021.80, compared to 169,392.33 in the previous session.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market turnover also saw a decrease, with the regular (REG) segment reporting a turnover of 356,137,791, down from 372,016,183. The traded value for the REG segment was recorded at 19,486,786,540, which is an increase from the previous 17,210,399,679. However, the market capitalization declined from 18,856,798,265,888 to 18,721,163,322,643. The DFC segment also showed a decrease in turnover with 92,833,500 compared to 100,221,000 previously, and a traded value of 6,171,846,260, down from 6,330,215,585. The ODL segment reported a turnover of 2,418, a slight decrease from 2,557.
The indices' high points during the session were 50,416.83 for KSE30 and 169,382.01 for KSE100, while the lows were 49,927.92 and 167,849.70 respectively. This decline comes amidst reduced trading volumes and a notable drop in market capitalization, suggesting a cautious trading environment.
