KSE Indices Decline Amid Increased Trading Volume

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange witnessed a decline in its major indices on August 31, 2026, as reported in the daily stock market update. The KSE30 index fell by 230.31 points to close at 52,702.72, while the KSE100 index decreased by 720.83 points to close at 176,975.68. This reflects percentage declines of 0.44% and 0.41% respectively compared to the previous trading session.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the trading day saw an increase in market activity despite the overall decline in indices. The turnover for regular (REG) trading reached 937,269,869, up from the previous session's 658,326,628. The traded value in this category also rose to 39,134,315,713 from 31,454,390,355. However, the market capitalization saw a decrease, standing at 19,830,162,108,263 compared to 19,885,390,257,718 from the previous session.

Additionally, there were notable movements in the Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) market, which saw a significant drop in turnover from 859,711,500 to 238,374,000 and a decline in traded value from 34,757,720,015 to 11,702,146,425. The Odd Lot (ODL) market also experienced a decrease in both turnover and traded value. The report did not indicate any activity in the Contract for Difference (CSF) market.
