KSE Indices Decline Amid Lower Market Capitalization

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices experienced a noticeable decline on Thursday, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices closing lower than their previous positions. The KSE30 index fell by 886.76 points to settle at 51,218.37, while the KSE100 index decreased by 2,405.93 points, finishing at 169,173.38. This downturn represents percentage decreases of 1.70% and 1.40% for the KSE30 and KSE100 indices, respectively.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market's turnover increased to 1,321,506,364 from the previous 1,054,061,234. Despite the higher turnover, the traded value fell to 30,844,574,390 from 37,293,533,828. Moreover, the market capitalization also saw a decrease, dropping to 18,713,984,463,029 from 18,971,013,946,277. The DFC turnover showed an increase to 437,836,000 from 357,891,000, although its traded value slightly declined to 17,810,499,200 from 18,036,206,380. Meanwhile, ODL figures showed a reduction, with turnover decreasing to 955 from 1,380 and traded value dropping to 21,952 from 23,113.

This report indicates a challenging trading day for market participants as the indices and market capitalization reflected downward trends.
