KSE Indices Decline as Market Sees Slight Downturn

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange experienced a downturn in trading on June 5, 2026, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices closing lower than their previous sessions. The KSE30 index closed at 50,877.61 points, down from its previous close of 51,222.50, marking a decline of 344.88 points or a 0.67% decrease. The KSE100 index also saw a decrease, finishing at 170,478.94 points, down 696.57 points or 0.41% from its previous close of 171,175.51.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the day's trading session witnessed fluctuations with the KSE30 reaching a high of 51,491.12 and a low of 50,804.52, while the KSE100 peaked at 172,102.91 and dropped to a low of 170,254.65. The overall market turnover increased, with 727,166,544 shares traded in the regular market, compared to 697,165,884 shares in the previous session. The traded value in the regular market also rose to 26,752,809,157 from 26,135,027,743. Despite the increased activity, the market capitalization declined slightly to 18,928,405,560,522 from 18,983,139,512,515.

The derivatives market saw a mixed result, with the DFC turnover at 116,460,000 shares, up from 107,497,500, and a traded value increase to 5,511,336,830 from 5,000,011,710. The ODL turnover also rose to 2,279 from 709, with a traded value of 49,021 compared to 18,604. The CSF remained inactive with no trades recorded.
