Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange observed a decline in its key indices on September 8, 2026, with the KSE30 and KSE100 indices falling by 0.56% and 0.57%, respectively. This decrease marks a significant drop in points for both indices, as the KSE30 lost 288.52 points, closing at 51,414.64, and the KSE100 lost 993.92 points, settling at 172,642.16.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market's turnover saw a significant increase as the traded value rose sharply. Regular market turnover soared to 722,624,203 from 679,188,744, while the traded value increased to 27,942,896,699 from 23,692,435,447. Despite the increase in trading activity, the market capitalization fell from 19,434,527,434,219 to 19,295,543,070,156. The decline in indices comes amid increased activity in Deferred Cash (DFC) and Over-the-Counter Dealings (ODL), which also saw higher turnover and traded value compared to previous figures.
