KSE Indices Decline as Trading Volume Drops

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) witnessed a notable decline in its indices on Thursday, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices experiencing drops in value. The KSE30 index fell by 405.13 points to close at 49,983.86, while the KSE100 index decreased by 1,138.50 points, settling at 167,441.91. This downturn was accompanied by a significant reduction in trading volume.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the turnover for regular trading stood at 365,869,618, down from 586,861,636 in the previous session. The traded value also saw a decline, with figures dropping from 22,365,283,321 to 17,722,106,337. Market capitalization also decreased to 18,597,600,648,466 from 18,747,509,514,136. Despite these declines, the daily high for the KSE100 reached 169,486.60, while the low was recorded at 167,449.88. The percentage change for the KSE30 and KSE100 indices was -0.80 and -0.68, respectively.

The downturn in the stock market reflects a cautious sentiment among investors, prompting reduced activity across various sectors.
