KSE Indices Experience Moderate Gains as Trading Volume Increases

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices showed moderate gains on August 17, 2026, with the KSE100 index rising by 0.22 percent and the KSE30 index increasing by 0.29 percent. This upward movement was accompanied by a significant increase in market turnover and traded value compared to the previous trading session.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE100 index closed at 180,502.45 points, up from the previous 180,104.61, marking an increase of 397.83 points. Meanwhile, the KSE30 index saw a rise of 157.61 points, closing at 53,761.19 points. The daily trading session recorded a high of 181,158.87 for the KSE100 and 53,965.12 for the KSE30.

The market turnover showed a marked increase, with the regular market (REG) recording a turnover of 1,047,676,312, compared to the previous 891,332,411, and a traded value of 48,325,028,485, up from 36,690,114,870. Market capitalization also rose to 20,198,564,535,036 from 20,130,302,034,524. The Daily Futures Contracts (DFC) segment also witnessed a rise in turnover and traded value, recording 238,938,500 and 13,288,785,775, respectively.

This increase in both indices and trading activity suggests a positive sentiment among investors, reflecting a more robust trading environment in the Karachi Stock Exchange.
