KSE Indices Experience Notable Decline as Trading Volume Decreases

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) experienced a significant downturn in its indices on September 14, 2026, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices recording declines. The KSE30 fell by 750.85 points, closing at 50,088.38, while the KSE100 dropped by 2,541.20 points, ending the day at 167,970.66.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the trading day saw the KSE30 index reach a high of 50,808.28 and a low of 49,884.48, while the KSE100 index hit a high of 170,437.73 and a low of 167,441.64. The percentage change for both indices was noted at a decrease of approximately 1.48% for KSE30 and 1.49% for KSE100.

The market turnover reflected a decrease in activity, with regular trading volumes down to 570,471,976 from the previous 687,466,978. The traded value correspondingly declined to 24,671,916,834 from 33,704,635,696. The market capitalization also saw a reduction, falling to 18,728,427,486,477 compared to the previous figure of 19,015,665,257,580.

The data also showed that the deferred settlement contracts (DFC) turnover dropped to 147,996,000 from 188,682,000, with a decrease in traded value to 8,069,800,315 from 10,531,120,950. There were no changes reported in other financial instruments, as open daily lending (ODL) volumes and clean settlement financing (CSF) remained static.
