Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange saw a positive uptick in its indices on December 30, 2025, as both the KSE-30 and KSE-100 closed higher compared to the previous trading session. The KSE-30 index rose by 214.40 points, reaching 53,490.51, while the KSE-100 index increased by 576.45 points, closing at 174,472.80.
The trading session witnessed fluctuations with the KSE-30 index peaking at 53,568.31 and hitting a low of 53,279.35. Similarly, the KSE-100 index recorded a high of 174,805.16 and a low of 174,121.42.
Market turnover showed a slight decrease with 851,043,961 shares traded, down from the previous session's 858,054,089. Despite the dip in turnover, the traded value increased to 44,902,647,678 from 42,867,672,022.
In the Detailed Financial Contracts (DFC) sector, both turnover and traded value saw significant increases. Turnover reached 194,799,000 shares, up from 172,783,500, while traded value jumped to 12,447,235,935 from 10,407,492,270.
Open Debt Letters (ODL) experienced a rise in both turnover and traded value, with turnover increasing to 3,052 from 1,216, and traded value to 57,043 from 24,647. The Closed-End Fund (CSF) sector also saw an improvement, with turnover rising to 661,500 from 146,500 and traded value increasing to 162,320,730 from 33,368,430.
Overall market capitalization of the regular market improved, climbing to 19,692,657,924,084 from 19,590,120,764,774, reflecting investor confidence in the market.
The activity on the stock exchange indicates a positive investor sentiment as the year comes to a close, with market participants optimistic about future growth prospects.
