KSE Indices Plunge as Market Suffers Significant Losses

KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Exchange witnessed a notable downturn as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices experienced significant declines on July 23, 2026. The KSE30 index fell by 882.09 points, closing at 51,216.76, while the KSE100 index decreased by 2,690.48 points, ending at 171,739.45. This marked a decrease of 1.69% and 1.54% respectively, compared to the previous trading session.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market exhibited reduced activity with a turnover of 525,122,101 shares in the regular market, a drop from the previous turnover of 695,696,577 shares. The traded value also declined to 23,428,338,481 from 25,404,237,273. Market capitalization suffered a decrease, falling to 19,360,633,220,317 from 19,625,694,496,213.

In addition to the regular market, the Deliverable Futures Contracts (DFC) and the Odd Lot Deals (ODL) also saw a reduction in trading volumes and values. The DFC turnover stood at 156,958,500, down from 171,452,000, with a traded value of 6,357,058,210 compared to 7,168,829,275 previously. The ODL saw a slight decrease in turnover from 3,030 to 2,989, though the traded value increased to 64,061 from 50,224.

The trading session recorded no activity in Contract Specific Futures (CSF), indicating a lack of transactions in that segment. The overall market downturn reflects a challenging period for traders and investors amid fluctuating market conditions.
