Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices closed lower as the KSE30 and KSE100 both saw declines in their current index levels compared to the previous trading day. The KSE30 fell by 216.11 points to 53,131.56, while the KSE100 decreased by 638.45 points, closing at 177,623.88.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market experienced a decrease in turnover and traded value across different categories. Regular market turnover was recorded at 958,013,971, down from the previous 1,032,191,519. The traded value in the regular market also saw a decline to 41,566,394,443 from 41,019,931,923. Despite the downturn, the market capitalization remained substantial at 19,950,518,359,238, although it showed a decrease from the previous figure of 20,021,167,829,046.
The data indicates that the KSE30 and KSE100 indices reached highs of 53,622.01 and 179,123.01, respectively, during trading but eventually closed lower. The percentage change for KSE30 was -0.41, while KSE100 recorded a -0.36 decline. The decline in the indices reflects the current market conditions and investor sentiments impacting the trading day.
