KSE Indices Rise Amid Strong Trading Volumes

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange experienced a positive trading session, with the KSE100 index rising by 1,171.42 points to close at 162,803.16, a 0.72% increase from the previous session. The KSE30 index also saw gains, climbing 120.05 points to 49,497.35, marking a 0.24% uptick.

Trading activity remained robust, though there was a slight dip in the overall turnover. The regular market recorded a turnover of 949.36 million shares, slightly down from 952.86 million shares in the previous session. Despite this, the traded value saw a significant increase, reaching 47.58 billion PKR compared to 42.27 billion PKR previously.

Market capitalization also reflected positive sentiment, rising to 18.64 trillion PKR from 18.56 trillion PKR. The futures market, however, showed a notable decline in turnover, with 232.09 million shares traded against 901.29 million shares in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to 15.34 billion PKR from 37.81 billion PKR.

The over-the-counter debt market showed increased activity with 585 trades compared to 361 in the prior session, and the traded value rose to 11,194 PKR from 6,403 PKR.

Overall, the session indicated investor optimism and strong market performance, supported by increased traded value and market capitalization, as reported by the Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited.
