KSE Indices Rise Slightly Amid Market Fluctuations

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange saw a modest increase in its major indices on Thursday, with the KSE30 and KSE100 both experiencing a 0.31% rise. The KSE30 closed at 48,297.59, up by 148.84 points from the previous day, while the KSE100 ended at 159,592.90, marking an increase of 496.11 points.

Throughout the trading session, the indices fluctuated, with the KSE30 reaching a high of 48,573.46 and a low of 48,046.18. Similarly, the KSE100 peaked at 160,435.95 and hit a low of 159,005.14.

Market turnover showed a decrease, with the Regular (REG) market recording 768,833,315 trades, down from the previous 957,304,174. The traded value in the REG market was approximately 30.73 billion, a slight increase from the previous 30.44 billion.

The Futures (FUT) market also saw a decrease in activity, with 163,336,000 trades compared to 215,512,500 previously. The traded value in this segment was 8.07 billion, a slight drop from the earlier 8.18 billion.

The Odd Lot (ODL) transactions rose to 503 from 402, showing a marginal increase in market activity in this category.

Market capitalization for the day stood at approximately 18.29 trillion, up from 18.22 trillion the previous day, reflecting a slight improvement in investor confidence.

These figures reflect the nuanced dynamics of investor behavior and market conditions as the stock exchange navigates through global economic influences and domestic factors.
