KSE Indices See Sharp Decline as Market Struggles

Karachi: Investors faced a challenging day on the Pakistan Stock Exchange as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices experienced significant declines. The KSE30 fell by 633.13 points, closing at 49,518.48, while the KSE100 dropped by 2,288.17 points to settle at 165,867.32. These movements represented a percentage decrease of 1.26% and 1.36%, respectively.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market's overall turnover decreased from the previous session, with recorded trades amounting to 441,898,222, down from 493,957,145. The traded value also saw a fall, with current figures at 15,709,837,693 compared to the previous 17,491,130,287. Market capitalization followed a similar trend, declining from 18,725,525,051,750 to 18,464,451,859,910.

The drop in indices was accompanied by reduced activity across different market segments, indicating a cautious approach by investors amidst fluctuating market conditions. The DFC segment reported a lower turnover of 91,217,500 against 94,041,500 previously, with traded value decreasing to 4,552,427,705 from 5,370,296,790. The ODL segment noted a marginal increase in turnover but remained low in overall activity.
