KSE Indices See Slight Decline Amid Increased Market Turnover

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) witnessed a minor decline in its key indices on Thursday, with the KSE30 index falling by 109.40 points to close at 53,603.57, while the KSE100 index dropped by 206.60 points, closing at 180,104.61. Despite the decrease in index values, market turnover saw a significant increase, indicating active trading.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the day's turnover for regular trades surged from 744,237,154 to 891,332,411, and the traded value rose from 32,192,761,860 to 36,690,114,870. Market capitalization, however, experienced a slight decrease from 20,177,381,788,105 to 20,130,302,034,524. Additionally, the derivatives and off-the-counter trades also showed increased activity, with DFC turnover increasing to 225,965,000 from 126,621,000, and its traded value reaching 10,542,115,980, compared to the previous 7,332,487,285. Despite the declines in the indices, the market activity suggests a robust trading environment.
