KSE Indices Show Modest Gains Amid Decline in Trading Volume

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices displayed modest gains on September 25, 2026, despite a noticeable decline in overall trading volume. The KSE30 index rose by 74.20 points, closing at 50,813.89, while the KSE100 index increased by 266.28 points, reaching 170,765.22.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the day's trading saw a significant decrease in turnover, with regular market transactions amounting to 482,758,737 compared to the previous 759,974,194. The traded value in the regular market also fell, recording 19,283,841,832 against the prior 27,539,926,430. However, the market capitalization saw a slight improvement, standing at 18,996,437,325,600, up from 18,971,042,131,404.

In contrast, the deliverable futures contracts (DFC) sector experienced an increase in both turnover and traded value, reaching 687,873,000 from the earlier 526,471,500, and 27,170,621,570 from 21,616,574,415, respectively. The odd-lot deals (ODL) sector, however, saw a decline, with the number of deals dropping to 723 from 2,554 and the traded value decreasing to 20,340 from 50,564.

The market's performance was characterized by fluctuations, with the high of the day recorded at 50,937.26 for KSE30 and 171,159.73 for KSE100, while the lows were 50,540.60 and 169,890.56, respectively.
