KSE Indices Show Modest Gains Amid Decreased Trading Volume

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices recorded modest gains on August 25, 2026, despite a significant decrease in trading volume. The KSE100 index rose by 404.02 points to close at 177,370.71, while the KSE30 index increased by 182.71 points, ending at 52,827.24. However, the overall market turnover saw a notable decline, indicating cautious trading behavior among investors.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE100 index reached a high of 177,775.71 and a low of 176,577.14 during the trading session. The percentage change for the KSE100 was 0.23, while the KSE30 showed a 0.35 percent increase. The market's traded value for regular trades fell significantly from 44,100,136,507 to 31,365,996,374, highlighting a decrease in investor activity.

Despite the rise in indices, the market capitalization saw a marginal increase, closing at 19,892,307,740,908 compared to the previous 19,870,851,031,029. The dramatic drop in turnover, from 933,516,751 to 644,841,866 for regular trades, indicates a cautious approach by market participants amid uncertain economic conditions.
