KSE Indices Show Modest Gains Amid Mixed Trading Activity

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices posted modest gains on April 21, 2026, with both the KSE-30 and KSE-100 indices closing higher than their previous positions. The KSE-30 index rose by 300.73 points to close at 52,620.81, while the KSE-100 index increased by 959.09 points, ending the day at 173,155.79.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the trading session saw the KSE-30 index reach a high of 53,351.60 and a low of 52,514.20. Similarly, the KSE-100 index recorded a high of 175,298.12 and a low of 172,837.80. The percentage change for both indices was approximately 0.57% for KSE-30 and 0.56% for KSE-100.

Market turnover showed a reduction in activity with registered (REG) trading volumes decreasing from 1,296,211,292 shares previously to 1,165,254,379 shares. The traded value also saw a decline, moving from 65,274,574,491 to 54,942,437,670. In contrast, the deferred (DFC) market activity rose, with turnover increasing from 358,035,000 to 464,114,000, and the traded value growing from 19,527,103,200 to 28,995,140,965. Open delivery (ODL) turnover also witnessed an increase from 889 to 2,656, and its traded value rose from 21,704 to 51,648. The overall market capitalization saw a slight increase, reaching 19,161,402,470,827 from the previous 19,060,131,922,141.
