KSE Indices Show Modest Gains as Trading Volume Increases

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) indices closed with modest gains on January 28, 2026, as both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices showed slight improvements. The KSE30 rose by 75.72 points to close at 58,032.20, while the KSE100 increased by 177.53 points to finish at 188,380.39. The trading session saw a significant increase in turnover, with notable activity in regular, direct foreign, and odd-lot markets.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE30 and KSE100 indices reached highs of 58,300.20 and 189,183.88, respectively, during the trading session. The low points for the indices were recorded at 57,908.75 for KSE30 and 188,179.51 for KSE100. The percentage changes for the indices were 0.13% for KSE30 and 0.09% for KSE100.

The turnover in the regular market increased to 953,917,122 from the previous 749,247,109, while the traded value decreased from 53,060,874,131 to 48,877,508,250. The market capitalization rose to 21,185,992,350,728 from the previous 21,146,623,744,849. In the direct foreign category, there was a notable increase in turnover from 446,671,000 to 598,303,500, with the traded value rising from 31,686,769,655 to 37,778,463,540. The odd-lot market also saw an increase in turnover from 594 to 653, and the traded value rose from 12,766 to 15,219. The continuous settlement future market saw no activity, as indicated by zeros across the board.

The Karachi Stock Exchange continues to show resilience as trading volumes increase, reflecting investor confidence amid fluctuating market conditions.
