KSE Indices Slide Amid Lower Trading Volumes

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange closed on a lower note on December 31, 2025, with both KSE30 and KSE100 indices experiencing declines. The KSE30 index fell by 187.58 points, closing at 53,302.93, a 0.35% decrease from the previous day. Similarly, the KSE100 index dropped by 418.47 points, closing at 174,054.32, marking a 0.24% decline.

Trading volumes saw a mix of trends across different sectors. The regular market recorded a turnover of 957,239,350, higher than the previous trading session's 851,043,961. However, the traded value decreased to 44,230,546,164 from 44,902,647,678, indicating reduced investor confidence.

The derivatives sector also experienced a decrease in activity. The DFC turnover rose to 206,328,500 from 194,799,000, yet the traded value fell to 11,810,609,855, down from the previous 12,447,235,935. The ODL segment saw a significant drop, with turnover falling to 848 from 3,052, and the traded value decreasing to 16,912 from 57,043.

Market capitalization remained relatively stable, with the regular market's current value at 19,689,887,678,187, a slight decrease from the prior 19,692,657,924,084.

The day's trading session reflected a cautious market sentiment, with investors appearing hesitant amid the broader economic uncertainties.
