Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange witnessed a notable uptick in its indices on May 20, 2026, with both the KSE30 and KSE100 indices closing higher compared to the previous trading day. The KSE30 rose to 49,356.83 while the KSE100 climbed to 164,831.42, marking increases of 669.37 and 1,934.74 points, respectively.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE30 index achieved a high of 49,435.09 and a low of 48,638.53 during the trading session. Similarly, the KSE100 index recorded a high of 165,081.70 and a low of 162,895.74. Despite the gains in indices, turnover for regular trading fell slightly to 386,394,917 from the previous 391,935,730, while traded value saw a decline to 20,125,682,030 from 22,975,246,260. Market capitalization, however, increased to 18,243,483,412,814 from 18,081,139,326,508.
In contrast, the Defaulters' Counter volume grew significantly to 312,777,500 from the previous 212,870,000, but the traded value decreased to 11,311,780,435 from 14,016,900,520. Other categories such as Odd Lot and Continuous Funding System did not display significant activity.
