The KSE30 index closed at 48,079.56, up from its previous close of 46,696.53, marking an increase of 1,383.03 points, or 2.96 percent. Similarly, the KSE100 index ended the day at 158,313.45, a rise of 4,347.08 points, or 2.82 percent, from its prior close of 153,966.36.
According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the day's trading saw a substantial boost in turnover and traded value across various categories. The regular market recorded a turnover of 612,361,080 shares, significantly higher than the previous day's 375,342,111 shares. The traded value for the regular market increased to 34,597,731,238, up from 22,976,240,764. The market capitalization also saw a rise, reaching 17,584,596,552,328 from 17,152,437,361,225.
The day’s trading also reflected heightened activity in the Deliverable Future Contracts (DFC) segment, with turnover rising to 399,736,000 from 230,553,500, and traded value increasing to 21,824,754,390 from 9,748,770,110. The Odd Lot Deals (ODL) segment showed a modest increase in turnover and traded value as well. There was no activity reported under the Contract for Difference (CSF) segment.
The gains in the KSE indices and increased trading activity indicate a positive investor sentiment in the market, contributing to the overall growth in market capitalization.
