KSE100 Index Climbs as Market Capitalization Grows Slightly

Karachi: The KSE100 index experienced a modest rise, gaining 546.15 points to close at 176,094.13, reflecting a 0.31% increase from the previous day. This uptick was accompanied by a slight growth in market capitalization, which increased by 0.19% to reach Rs 19,755.71 billion, or approximately $71.11 billion.

According to JS Global, the trading session highlighted several top gainers, including Adamjee Insurance Company Limited (AICL), which saw its share price increase by 4.22% to Rs 92.46. Kohat Cement Company Limited (KOHC) and Kohinoor Textile Mills Limited (KTML) also posted gains of 3.67% and 4.10%, respectively. On the other hand, some stocks experienced declines, with Huffaz Seamless Pipe Industries Limited (HGFA) and International Industries Limited (INIL) losing 3.77% and 2.10%, respectively.

The total trading volume for the day was 880.95 million shares, with a total value of Rs 24.96 billion, equivalent to about $89.84 million. Despite the overall positive movement, the KSE100 index remains 2.33% lower on a year-to-date basis for the fiscal year 2027. Regional market comparisons showed varied performances, with Korea's KOSPI achieving a significant year-to-date increase of 56.5%, while Indonesia's JKSE faced a substantial decline of 27.9% over the same period.
