KSE100 Index Drops Over 2,300 Points in a Single Day Amid Decreased Turnover

Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange witnessed a significant downturn as the KSE100 index fell by 2,320.78 points, closing at 175,802.79. The KSE30 index also saw a decline, shedding 665.92 points to settle at 52,497.68. This drop reflects a decrease of 1.30% and 1.25% respectively, from the previous day’s close.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the market experienced a reduction in turnover, with 621,024,167 shares traded, down from 736,955,673 shares the previous day. The traded value also decreased, recording at 29,884,266,377 from the prior 34,609,412,979. Market capitalization followed the declining trend, dropping to 19,790,419,685,812 from 20,039,920,166,244.

The market’s highest and lowest points were recorded at 178,694.49 and 175,790.63, respectively, indicating a volatile session. The drop in indices and turnover suggests a cautious approach by investors amid current market conditions.
