KSE100 Index Records Modest Gain Amid Increased Market Turnover

Karachi: The KSE100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) experienced a moderate increase on Monday, closing at 176,094.12 points, marking a rise of 546.13 points or 0.31 percent from its previous close. The turnover in the market also saw a significant increase, indicating heightened investor activity.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE30 index also witnessed a slight increase, closing at 52,480.22 points, up by 4.71 points. The market turnover for regular trades was recorded at 880,951,065 shares, a notable increase from the previous figure of 711,200,933 shares. Similarly, the traded value in regular trades saw a decrease, closing at 24,957,456,793 from 25,396,365,915.

The indices reached their highest points at 52,864.50 for KSE30 and 177,108.67 for KSE100, while the day's lows were recorded at 52,438.82 and 175,934.99, respectively. The increase in market activities was reflected in the turnover for Deliverable Futures Contracts (DFC), which saw an increase to 582,374,500 compared to the previous 382,308,500.

The market capitalization, however, showed stability with a slight increase to 19,755,713,186,142 from 19,717,570,575,985. Open Deliverable Liabilities (ODL) also increased to 1,407 from 691, while their traded value rose to 35,806 from 19,463.

The PSX's performance reflects ongoing investor interest amid fluctuating market conditions, as indicated by the increased trading volumes and market capitalization figures.
