Karachi: The Pakistan Stock Exchange experienced a mixed trading session as the KSE100 index recorded a modest gain while the KSE30 index saw a slight decline. The KSE100 index closed at 166,283.55 points, up by 138.20 points or 0.08 percent from its previous close. In contrast, the KSE30 index dropped by 14.33 points, closing at 50,481.85 points, marking a decrease of 0.03 percent.
During the trading session, the KSE100 index reached a high of 166,837.10 points and a low of 165,886.26 points. The KSE30 index fluctuated between a high of 50,703.30 points and a low of 50,386.15 points.
The market turnover increased, with the regular market seeing a volume of 607,790,520 shares traded, compared to 593,078,642 shares in the previous session. The traded value in the regular market stood at 31,224,983,259, down from 44,424,349,404.
In the deliverable future contracts (DFC) segment, the turnover decreased to 157,792,500 shares from 195,835,000 shares previously. The traded value in DFC was recorded at 10,321,754,815, down from 13,364,123,415.
The overall market capitalization saw a slight increase, with current figures at 18,948,989,478,248 compared to the previous 18,915,563,442,945.
The stock exchange's performance reflected mixed sentiment among investors, with some indices showing resilience while others faced minor setbacks.
