KSE100 Index Sees Modest Gains Amid Mixed Performance in Local Market

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange's KSE100 index experienced a slight uptick on the trading day, closing at 176,133.56 points, marking an increase of 0.12% or 205.83 points. The market witnessed mixed performances across various stocks, with significant movements in both gainers and losers categories.

According to JS Global, the KSE30 index also recorded a mild increase of 0.09%, closing at 52,663.90 points. Among the top gainers, Pak Elektron Limited (PAEL) rose by 3.42% to 43.20, and Power Cement Limited (POWER) increased by 3.15% to 21.30. Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL) was up by 1.79%, reaching a price of 54.70.

In contrast, Cnergyico PK Limited (CNERGY) led the losers, dropping by 6.13% to 9.96. Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) saw a decline of 3.05%, while HGFA Limited (HGFA) fell by 2.19%. Maple Leaf Cement Factory Limited (MLCF) and Attock Refinery Limited (ATRL) also experienced declines of 2.08% and 1.63%, respectively.

The day’s trading volume was substantial, with a total of 1,003.50 million shares exchanged, translating to a value of Rs 35.70 billion. The market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange stood at Rs 19,790.23 billion, with a day-over-day change of 0.14%.

Regionally, stock markets showed varied performances, with Korea's KOSPI leading with a 3.6% rise, while India's BSESN saw a slight decline of 0.3%. Taiwan's TWII also experienced a notable increase of 4.2%.
