Karachi: The KSE100 index experienced a modest uptick, closing at 165,686.38, marking an increase of 210.36 points or 0.13 percent. In contrast, the KSE30 index saw a slight decline of 111.60 points, settling at 50,923.16, a decrease of 0.22 percent from the previous session.
The KSE100 index reached a high of 167,561.69 and a low of 165,357.21 during the trading session. The KSE30 index had a high of 51,532.71 and a low of 50,810.38.
The Oil and Gas sector's OGTI index also saw a decrease, falling by 91.97 points to 32,380.15, which is a 0.28 percent drop. In contrast, the KSE100PR index recorded a marginal gain of 20.06 points, closing at 52,757.30, reflecting a 0.04 percent increase.
The overall market turnover saw an increase, with 1,528,361,133 shares traded in the regular market, up from 1,179,987,121 shares in the previous session. The traded value also rose, reaching 68,604,395,925 compared to the prior session's 59,201,799,876.
In the futures market, the turnover was recorded at 321,789,500 shares, a slight increase from 319,892,500 shares previously. However, the traded value in futures declined to 17,086,633,150 from 19,729,305,175.
The market capitalization saw a rise, increasing to 19,178,469,922,555 from the previous figure of 19,105,754,530,332.
