KSE100 Index Surges Over 6%, Leading Regional Market Gains

Karachi: The Karachi Stock Exchange (KSE) experienced a significant rise on the latest trading day, with the KSE100 index climbing 6.62% and the KSE30 index increasing by 6.77%. These increases were part of a broader upward trend in regional markets, with the KSE100 index closing at 156,177.13 points and the KSE30 at 48,043.06 points.

According to JS Global, the top gainers on the KSE100 index included Kosmopolitan Industries Limited (KOSM) with a price increase of 12.89%, YouWe Limited (YOUW) at 11.53%, and Lotte Chemical Pakistan Limited (LOTCHEM) with a 10.02% rise. Meanwhile, the market capitalization of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw a 5.90% increase, reaching Rs 17,579.99 billion. Despite these positive movements, the year-to-date figures showed a decline of 10.72% for the calendar year 2026.

Trading volumes were robust, with total volume reaching 486.52 million shares, valued at Rs 31.22 billion. This activity reflects a broader regional trend, as markets in Korea and Taiwan also posted significant gains, with the KOSPI and TWII indexes up by 5.3% and 2.1%, respectively. The performance indicates renewed investor confidence across the region, amid varying economic conditions.
