KSE30 and KSE100 Indices Show Gains Amid Decreased Trading Turnover

Karachi: The KSE30 and KSE100 indices closed higher on May 5, 2026, with the KSE30 gaining 94.73 points to reach 49,491.50, and the KSE100 rising by 793.53 points, ending the session at 164,742.47. Despite the upward movement in indices, the market experienced a significant decrease in turnover and traded value compared to the previous session.

According to Pakistan Stock Exchange Limited, the KSE30 index recorded a high of 49,551.52 and a low of 48,725.20, while the KSE100 index reached a high of 164,920.35 and a low of 162,532.99. The percentage increases for the KSE30 and KSE100 indices were 0.19% and 0.48%, respectively. The market turnover for regular trades dropped from 696,704,307 to 453,219,997, and the traded value decreased from 34,913,433,073 to 22,785,381,236. Despite the decline in trading activity, the market capitalization slightly increased to 18,173,711,874,546 from 18,124,616,600,311.

The data also indicates a decrease in the turnover and traded value for Deliverable Futures Contracts (DFC) and Odd Lot Deals (ODL). The DFC turnover fell from 165,075,000 to 118,098,000, with the traded value decreasing from 8,631,052,130 to 7,331,930,085. Similarly, ODL turnover increased from 1,743 to 2,838, while the traded value rose from 37,620 to 50,062. The report did not provide data for Contract for Sale Futures (CSF).
