Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has partnered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to establish an SECP Clinic at its premises. This new facility is designed to assist LCCI members with regulatory compliance, offering direct access to SECP officials for resolving queries and issues efficiently.
According to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the LCCI-SECP Clinic will operate every Thursday, providing services such as company registration, compliance with corporate laws, and guidance on regulatory requirements. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to facilitate LCCI members and advocate for business-friendly policies, particularly aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
LCCI President Kashif Anwar emphasized the significance of the clinic, noting its role in enhancing the capacity of LCCI members to navigate the regulatory landscape. Anwar highlighted that this initiative builds on the success of the LCCI Tax Clinic, which has already benefited thousands of members.
Additionally, the LCCI recently hosted an Awareness Session on the eZfile Portal and Corporate Compliance and Companies Regularization Scheme 2024. The session, presided over by Anwar and featuring SECP Registrar Shahbaz Sarwar and expert Haseeb Ullah Khan, focused on educating members about new government policies and the eZfile Portal, which offers a user-friendly online platform for business applications and regulatory filings.
The session also covered the Companies Regularization Scheme 2024, under which SECP offers a limited-time facility for non-functional or defaulting companies to submit their missing returns without penalties until September 15, 2024. The eZfile Portal is presented as an advanced alternative to the previous eServices portal, introducing several new features related to corporate registry matters.
