Lahore: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has initiated the process to significantly enhance the city’s recreational offerings by developing two large fun lands in its major parks. This development follows the receipt of technical bids from five companies interested in undertaking the project.
According to Zameen.Com, the proposed fun lands will be located in Greater Iqbal Park and Jilani Park. The PHA has designated an annual lease of PKR 30 million for the space in Greater Iqbal Park and PKR 12 million for Jilani Park. The fun land at Jilani Park will extend over 10 kanals, while the facility at Greater Iqbal Park will occupy about 75,850 square feet. The authority has stipulated a completion deadline of 120 days once a company is selected.
Hassan Ahmed, the PHA’s Director of Coordination, noted that the new facilities would include a range of activities such as trampolining, rope courses, wall climbing, and an immersive indoor 5D gaming experience. To facilitate access, an online booking system for rides will be implemented, with ticket prices set by a joint committee to ensure they are affordable and fair.
