Lahore: The Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) announced that the 42nd International Exhibition of Handmade Carpets, set to take place from October 6 to 8, is poised to significantly advance the nation's carpet industry by fostering new export opportunities and generating foreign exchange. The event, which will host around 100 international buyers, is expected to introduce Pakistani handmade carpets to new global markets and stimulate industry development.

According to Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association, the announcement was made during a review meeting in Lahore, attended by key industry leaders including PCMEA Chairman Mian Atiq-ur-Rehman and Exhibition Chairman Riaz Ahmed. They highlighted the exhibition's potential to enhance the industry's market reach and strengthen direct connections with international buyers, thereby facilitating export deals and boosting production and employment in associated sectors.

The exhibition will showcase a variety of Pakistani handmade carpets, offering buyers a comprehensive view of the products available. Industry leaders emphasized the importance of aligning with international standards and buyer preferences, focusing on quality, design, sustainability, and eco-friendly production practices. The event aims to enable direct business-to-business interactions, which are expected to result in immediate export orders and the establishment of long-term commercial agreements, ultimately contributing to the growth of Pakistan's handmade carpet sector.
