Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch an advanced job-matching and recruitment platform. This initiative, hosted at LCCI, aims to create a dynamic link between job seekers and employers throughout Punjab, enhancing the employment landscape.
According to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the MoU was signed by LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad, PITB Senior Program Manager Shams Ul Islam, and Director Labour North Imran Haider Tipu, with key LCCI executives also in attendance. This new Punjab Job Portal at LCCI represents a significant step forward in connecting the business community with potential employees and streamlining the recruitment process.
Mian Abuzar Shad highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration, noting that it will facilitate direct access to skilled labor and support the broader economic structure by filling workforce gaps. “Our goal is to build a strong alignment between our organizations, ensuring a prosperous future for all stakeholders involved,” Shad remarked, expressing his appreciation for PITB’s support and the proactive measures taken by the Punjab government.
LCCI Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman shared his optimism about the ongoing partnership, envisioning it as a lasting model for public-private collaboration. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with PITB, which promises to bring innovative solutions and vital data to enhance employment facilitation,” said Usman.
Vice President of LCCI, Shahid Nazir Chaudhry, reflected on the broader impacts of the initiative, emphasizing that the Punjab Job Portal is a testament to LCCI and PITB’s commitment to fostering economic growth and enhancing job opportunities. PITB’s Shams Ul Islam outlined the technological framework of the portal, which boasts a user base of 900,000 job seekers and 87,000 registered employers, and includes a training component to help enhance job-related skills.
This collaborative effort between LCCI and PITB is set to become an invaluable resource for Punjab’s workforce, offering a comprehensive platform that matches talent with opportunity and supports economic resilience and growth in the region.
