Lahore: A seminar aimed at enhancing financial access for women entrepreneurs was organized by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) in collaboration with United Bank Limited. The event, part of Women Entrepreneurship Day celebrations, brought together women entrepreneurs, financial experts, and business leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities in empowering women-led businesses.
According to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the seminar was the result of efforts by LCCI Executive Committee Members Amina Randhawa and Firdous Nisar, with LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad as the Chief Guest. He emphasized the role of women entrepreneurs in Pakistan’s economic growth and highlighted LCCI's commitment to fostering gender equality. He called on financial institutions to create women-centric products and urged the government to reduce regulatory hurdles affecting women-led businesses.
Amina Randhawa emphasized addressing barriers hindering women's access to finance, while Firdous Nisar highlighted the economic potential of women entrepreneurs. Representatives from United Bank Limited showcased financial products tailored for women, including loan schemes and mentorship programs. The seminar featured panel discussions on overcoming challenges to women entrepreneurship and creating sustainable women-led businesses.
President Mian Abuzar Shad concluded with a call for collaboration among financial institutions, chambers of commerce, and policymakers to support women entrepreneurs. Participants praised the event as a platform for addressing systemic issues and sharing solutions. Organizers pledged continued support for women entrepreneurs through advocacy, mentorship, and financial inclusion initiatives.
