Lahore: Mian Abuzar Shad, President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), convened a meeting with trader delegations to address their concerns and detailed plans to enhance the business environment in Lahore. The meeting was attended by LCCI Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman, Vice President Shahid Nazir Chaudhry, and representatives from various market associations, focusing on collaborative efforts to mitigate economic uncertainties and regulatory challenges impacting traders.
According to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, President Shad emphasized the LCCI’s commitment to tackling the immediate and long-term issues faced by traders. He outlined a comprehensive action plan aimed at simplifying tax procedures, reducing unnecessary taxes, and making the tax system more equitable to enhance trader confidence and compliance. He also pledged to improve infrastructure, including roads, parking facilities, and utility services, to support trade and industry in the region.
President Shad further stressed the importance of supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through targeted initiatives such as easier access to finance and government-backed loans. He assured traders that the LCCI would actively communicate their concerns to the highest government levels and work to streamline licensing and regulatory processes to facilitate smoother business operations.
The traders expressed confidence in President Shad’s leadership, acknowledging the LCCI’s potential under his guidance to foster a conducive environment for trade and commerce. President Shad reiterated his commitment to policies promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, and sustainable development in Lahore, inviting traders to engage actively in Chamber initiatives and programs.
