LDA Intensifies Efforts on Band Road Project Amidst Monsoon Setbacks

Lahore: In response to strict deadlines, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has intensified construction efforts on the Controlled Access Corridor Band Road project, despite the ongoing monsoon season presenting considerable challenges.

According to Zameen.Com, recent progress on the Band Road project was observed during a site visit by LDA Director General Tahir Farooq, along with Chief Engineer Israr Saeed and other project officials. The team noted that asphalt laying and lane marking are nearing completion, with work progressing on a critical 1.8 km section of the road. Although monsoon rains have caused some delays, efforts are being made to finalize the service roads and continue construction on the toll plaza from Babu Sabu Chowk to the corridor.

Furthermore, the visit highlighted LDA's focus on digital transformation initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency. This includes the adoption of "Digital File Processing" software, which has already facilitated the recovery of over PKR 22 million through enhanced record checks in Johar Town. LDA's Director General emphasized the importance of moving towards one-click processing for cleared files to expedite applications and committed to maintaining a paperless work environment to streamline operations and meet project timelines.
