LDA Launches Online System for Building Plan Submissions and Approvals

Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has introduced an online system for the submission and approval of residential building plans, marking a significant advancement in the digital transformation of urban development processes. This new system is designed to streamline operations and enhance the efficiency of services provided to Lahore’s residents.

According to Zameen.Com, the LDA’s Citizen Facilitation Centre, also known as the One Window Cell, has initiated the acceptance of building plans through its online portal. The LDA E-Khidmat Centre, during its initial phase, has successfully processed 12 plans from private housing schemes with all associated challans issued digitally. The entire procedure from submission to approval is handled online, aiming to phase out traditional physical methods.

During a recent review at the E-Khidmat Centre, LDA Director General Tahir Farooq lauded the new online process and stressed the authority’s dedication to reducing the time required for plan approvals. He emphasized that this digital shift is part of a broader strategy to make urban planning more accessible and user-friendly. Chief Town Planners Azhar Ali and Asad Uz Zaman also briefed the LDA DG on the progress and outlined the potential benefits of the online system, which is expected to not only speed up the approval process but also enhance transparency and convenience for applicants.
