Lahore: In a significant urban development move, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has announced plans to establish the first-ever education city and health city in Lahore. These projects are part of a broader initiative to enhance the city’s infrastructure and provide specialized services to its residents.

According to Zameen.Com, LDA Director General Tahir Farooq provided a detailed briefing on the new development projects during a recent meeting. The education city is set to span 350 kanals, while the health city will cover 200 kanals. These facilities are designed to foster educational and healthcare excellence in the region, catering to the growing needs of Lahore’s population.

The meeting also touched upon the progress of the LDA City housing scheme, with updates from LDA City Project Director Usman Nazar and LDA City Director Hafeezullah. Director General Farooq instructed officials to expedite the handover of plots in three additional blocks of the LDA City. He emphasized the importance of delivering over 1,000 plots in the B, D, and E blocks of Jinnah Sector to their owners within the forthcoming two weeks.

Furthermore, Farooq highlighted the necessity of providing all essential facilities for home construction in blocks where possession has already been granted and stressed the importance of collecting development charges from allottees who have not yet fulfilled their financial obligations.

The meeting concluded with a review of the ongoing development work on structural plan roads and the Iqbal Sector, focusing on improving infrastructure and elevating living standards across Lahore.
